I want to do this in one casting all four tabs with a backplate. And a thougher two component rubber. But less tab and more rubber.
And maybe some room for the rubber to go to when compressed by the torque of the engine, or brake. As not to push the assembly apart. this wil need some experimenting. I would keep the woodblock though. Maybe time to play with the backyard foundry. And visit the seller of chemical stuff. For some info on rubber. The net tells me something suitable is out there. You can also observe the poor qualitiy of the laminate but if I seal the edges nobody will be the wiser. It's strong enough for its purpose. And I hope I can hammer the plate over it. First on purpose build dolly or anvil in the round part and on the edge of the steel table for the straight part.
