Well, finally got back to noodling around on the project car a bit. Almost looks like a car now. I have driven it up and down the street a few times, everything seems to be in good order, but have not yet really pushed it. Best to just take baby steps with as much as has been changed. Using a plastic break room chair as a drivers seat, don't want to put in the reupholstered seats until after painting is complete. Hydraulic emergency brake working as hoped. Bolted VW Kombi brake slave cylinders to the rear hubs to activate the disc brakes independently of the main braking circuit.

Have been working a bit more lately now that it is getting warmer. Need to take some pics and make some posts.
Just to feel more energized, I put all 4 wheels on it it and dropped it down off the jackstands. Will put it back up tomorrow, since I still need to finish hydraulic emergency brake system, front and rear brakes, clutch, etc before test driving.

One step closer !

Want to get exhaust and emergency brake in place before dropping it all the way down on the frame. Figure the extra 6" of working room will be helpful. Knocked off a couple wires in the process of bringing body in position, but fortunately identified them fairly quickly and it started right up again.

79 Spitfire With 2.5 Duratec, Custom Axles Arrived!

Well, took a while, but finally got my custom axles. Good news, they fit differential and hubs. bad news, had to modify my frame custom frame supports because inner CV was bigger than expected.

Will need to put body on frame to figure out radius arm design.

Also got all 4 linear actuators for doors and hood installed. Trying to do at least one thing a day, as someone noted in a post here about how to re-energize a stalled project.
