“Little Cayenne”
Beautiful Viper Red w/Bright Silver Stripes, Sporting a Union Jack under the Bonnet, a rear spoiler w/third brake light and a Chrome Moly Dual Hoop Roll Bar, powder coated in near chrome finish, built by a friend and I, both are for added Safety and Great Looks.
The Lite Grey Interior goes with the Silver stripes and Wheels, shifting is handled from a 4 speed w/overdrive transmission, the music is played through a Sony Stereo and 4 Sony speakers.
Poly urethane bushings throughout and drllled and slotted front rotors, Gaz adjustable front shocks, w/ upgraded springs, Super Lite Wheels in 16x7" are running on Cooper Zeons in 205/40/r16.
The Engine has a lot of mods, w/lightened flywheel, crank, rods and JE pistons. Double row timing chain, bigger cam, ported head. Pertronix coil and electronic ignition w/Summit dual spark ignition box. A electric fuel pump feeds the 4 carb setup, w/K&N filters, a ceramic coated stainless header feeds a pace setter exaust system for that sweet sound.

Ricky, great looking Spit. What size wheels/tires are those? Any issues with rubbing on the fenders?

16x7 wheels, 205/40/16 Cooper Zeons, will rub, you have to do a little work.

Looks really good. I bet the low profile tires make it seem like you are on solid rubber tires. I feel every imperfection in the road on 14s I imagine the low profile tire makes that even worse but I bet it sticks in corners like crazy. Is it a harsh ride ?

Hey Joe, It's alittle bit on the stiff side, lol, but I don't drive it every day, so I can handle it, I like the way it handles and I love those 16" Superlites, they really look good on the car.

Hey Ricky, I can't figure why it took me until yesterday to find your car on the forum. It is outstanding in every respect. I would like to ask you some questions about tire and wheel fitment as well as your carb set up. I am building a 77 Spit for the Wife. It is an engine swap to an old 2.0 Pinto motor with a Mazda five speed. I am also switching to five lugs with a little mustang rear end and Miata front spindles. I want to run bike CV carbs and get the set up and tuning bang on. Thanks in advance for any assistance and what a great job you did on that car.

Hey Jeff, I would love to see pics of your build, sounds very interesting. I bet it will be a enjoyable ride for your wife. My daughter drive this one to high school, she loved being different. On the carbs, I had to change the jetting leaner in mine, I got it to run good with no problems, set and go. Lol. Run a low pressure electric fuel pump and a good low pressure regulator.
