Retired licensed professional engineer; designed and built nuclear and fossil power plants for 34 years. DOT5 devotee since 2005.

Bought this 1970 Spitfire MK3 from the original owner in 1971. Drove it year around as my primary ride for about 5 years, including a 75-mile round trip to/from work. In storage in my garage for almost 30 years. Nearly 100% original, including original Lucas headlights, AM radio, L847 lenses, tool kit including that little snap-closed plastic case, etc. Amazingly, never had any rust or body damage. And yes, the whitewalls are correct, although the wheel covers are not. Been back on the road since Spring of '05.

It's actually in great shape and never been wrecked or rusted in any way whatsoever. "Restoring" it has really never meant more than minor engine work, suspension work, routine repairs to brakes, electricals, etc. Plus a professional paint job. So a few years ago I acquired two farm-field hulks to "back up" my Spit....another '70 spit and a '70 GT6+. They each...
