Couldn't be more excited to have picked up my MGB. It was raced in the midwest for a long time, and as such doesn't really need much. to get it prepped for the first race I will be taking it to at Road America next week, I basically just had to update the safety gear, using the seat and harnesses from my old race car since they were both brand new. Other than that, I went through the brakes, changed most of the rubber components since they had been sitting, and did the usual service and fluid items. Shod the wheels in some Nitto NT01's and added numbers and we are good to go. Have been trying to learn as much as I can about these cars as quickly as I can, and got a list of things to do for the midwest winter.
- Improve roll cage. Currently a 4 point bar, which while legal is not my preference. Will be getting a beefier cage done over winter.
- Lower a bit more. Trying to decide front spring setup, and will likely remove a leaf and restack the rear springs.
- Engine out, clean and paint the bay and crossmembers.
Pics of the day I bought it, and how it sits now ready for the race weekend.
