Still setting up this forum and need some help...

Does NASA have a dedicated historic/vintage racing division? I'm having trouble finding any info. I guess the American Iron Racing/Pony Cars/Camaro/Mustang Challenge (CMC) sort of qualifies as Vintage in some cases.

I see on the NASA website under "Sanctioned Groups" a link to US Legend Cars, should I rename this forum to US Legend?

https://www.uslegendcars.com/

Thanks,
Skye

Legend cars aren't vintage race cars. They are purpose built race cars that run new Japanese motorcycle engines and old timey plastic bodies. You can go to the race car store and buy a brand new car today. Fun to watch, but certainly not vintage. smiling smiley

NASA doesn’t have any specific vintage classes on a national basis. However, I do remember several years ago, one of their regions (SE region, I think) started some “outlaw vintage” classes that were displacement based but allowed engine swaps not normally allowed by other vintage race groups. I don’t know how successful this was or if it even still exists.

Thanks for the input, based on feedback I've totally reorganized the forums based on class instead of sanctioning body.

I do not think that NASA has a vintage group. I run sometimes with an SCCA vintage group, the Historic Race Group (HRG) which races in the North East. It's a small group that gets a separate run group at SCCA races. It's mixed because it is small, so you will have cars from Bugeye's and Spitfires running with Datsuns, Mustangs and Corvettes. It's a fun and safe group.
