Triumph Spitfire's came with swing axles in the rear. Took some serious effort to make them work.

We have plenty of diversity in our small bore grids here in the PNW.....

Holiday cheer to all!
Aide from the factory support for AH engines, why don't we see any Triumph engined Formula juniors? The engines seemingly were up to it in that Spits continually won their class at the ARRC etc? The head--where HP comes from is a better design with 7 or 8 ports as opposed to 5 for the type engines.

Triumph solved that problem with what was called a SWING SPRING Before that after markets sold a "camber compensator" just like for early porsches and VW's,Lagonda etc..

If I get enough free time this winter to go thru the car, my newly acquired Spitfire will be running here in the northeast in 2023.

Nice, looks like an easy amount of time to prep for 2023 if the mechanicals are good. What tracks will you hit next season?

Depends if I prep it to current SCCA HP or vintage spec’s. HP would be easier since that’s how the car sits in its current configuration. To be “vintage legal”, I would need to replace the hood/bonnet for a stock unit w/o the flares and the same with the rear quarter panels. I have 4 full logbooks starting back in 1977, so the car should be eligible to run with several different sanctioning bodies.

I’m 45 minutes from Pocono, 2.5 hours from Watkins Glen, 3 hours to Lime Rock, 3 hours to NJMP, 4 hours to Summit Point, 5 hours to Pittsburgh International Raceway(Beaver Run), 6 hours to NHIS and 6.5 hours to Mid Ohio. We are really blessed to have all of these fantastic facilities within a reasonable distance to home.

Wow you are lucky to have all those awesome tracks that close. I'm 12 hours from Laguna Seca, 10 from Sears Point, 3 from Seattle's Pacific Raceway, and 15 minutes from PIR, my home track.
