Federal-spec car was picked up at the factory by Dave Collins on May 22, 1971 and shipped to the USA after some time in the UK and on the Continent. Car was repainted in 1993 by John Willburn and partially reupholstered during the same period by Barbara Willburn. Rutherford conversion with Koni shocks at rear was installed. Later changes -- engine rebuilt with 4.0 short block and SD1 heads, 1980s tubular exhaust headers, Edelbrock carburetor and intake manifold, Piper 270-2 camshaft and Mallory Unilite optical trigger distributor, panhard rod, hard-chromed kingpins. Stub axles have lip seals and Vesconite High-Lube bushes. One-shot oiler is disconnected. Decambered front end.
This car is an easy driver that looks somewhat "lived in" but is in excellent mechanical condition. I have no plans to restore it -- I love the fact that I can just jump in the car and go with no worries about damaging the paint or breaking down.
