“The Red One”
This MGBGT is probably the first one in Austria, it was registered by special permit through Austrian authorities in early 1966 long before official import start. I bought it in 2007 from a friend who had put a fortune in restauration including technical rebuild.
Body: New Build Up in 1986 and respray in 2008, Color is Porsche Indian red with new black leather trim kit with red piping,
Status 2018: new paint on under-floor and engine bay, disassembled and newly painted tank, axles, all suspension parts, steering, new, brake & fuel lines and wiring loom, motor rebuild and gearbox swap from 3sync O/D to Mazda gearbox finished, not satisfied with Vitesse's gear shift lever quality,
Technical matters: 72 spoke wire wheels,
Front: V8 calipers with Mintex M1144 on V8 Disks,
Poly Bushes, Neg Camber Wishbones, Uprated Lever Arm Dampers & Valves,
3/4" Anti Roll Bar, uprated springs 1" lower,
Rear: Spax Conversion, Poly Bushes, Anti Tramp Bars, uprated leave springs,
Motor: Bore 83,5mm, Fully balanced crank & lightened flywheel & pulley balanced, con rods & forged pistons balanced to 0,3g
Moss Stage 2 Head, ported, CR 9,8:1, tuftrided rocker shaft, cam D9 grind timed in at 106° I/C, harded and bored followers, HS6 carbs with BAP needles & stub stacks, K&Ns, Peco SS free flow with Maniflow manifold, Performance 45D distributor,
Uprated Radiator, oil pump, water pump, fuel pump.......
