MGBs were assembled in Australia at BLs Zetland plant. In the same plant Austin 1800s were being assembled. The workers there thought it would be a good idea to recognise the un-official "Marks" of the MGBs and added the MARK II badge from the Austin 1800 to the rear of the MGB. Thus distinguishing the Aussie Bs from those assembled else where.
This is the Australian Motor Vehicle Compliance Plate on my 1971 MGB which indicates it was assembled in May 1971
