Well the last few months have gone quickly. I have completely removed the Front Guards Apron and engine. I Noticed that the engine bay had not been painted very well. Even tho I had paid a professional to paint the car I Thought I could do a better job myself.
So I removed the whole front again and cleaned up the insides of the Engine Bay, and while I was at it I prepped the Scuttle and the Bonnet, these had File marks still showing through the paint and some surface rust around the louvers that a previous owner had so lovingly had, cut into the Bonnet.
So now in the new year The Paintwork is finally to my satisfaction. I now just need to re-assemble the whole thing. And repair a few bits along the way.

Gee its 1/2 way through the year an I'm nowhere near where I had hoped to be.
Life is just too busy. Grand kids birthdays, Caravan ans camping show, 40th Anniversary of the TSOA in Queensland, ( Great day out ) and now its winter and so many greay motoring events. The All historic races were really great a couple of weekends ago. and the V8's are coming to town in a few weeks. This weekend I'm getting back to painting the house. Thats definately a Winter job.the paint just dries too quick on the brush in the summer.

Ok the Big six is all re-assembled and ready to re-install. Just got the extractors back from the Industrial coaters. and they are ready to go too.
The clutch blew last year. and after replacing the Button clutch and rebalancing the flywheel with the pressure plate, the engine had a nasty vibration.???
After many checks. we decided to pull the whole thing out and do an autopsy. Well everything was fine.
Till a careful look at the harmonic balance.... yep it had spun.
Re assembled engine with New Rings bearings, seals etc. and a rebuilt Harmonic balance.
So now I just have to wait till the weekend..
Again the TR3 falls to the backbench.

I have worked through the last 2 weekends. so the poor TR has had no attention. Have just got the 6cyl engine back from my Engine builder. so next weekend will be dedicated to getting the Triumph PI Saloon back on the Road. Then I have earned a weekend off so might slide the camper onto the Ute and get out of town.

This weekend I found some time. And starting from the Rear, I managed to re-assemble the Boot seal, Boot Hinges and New Handle, along with the Tail lights etc.
Starting to look like a TR again.
Everything is so fiddly, just trying to find the correct screws, bolts and nuts is so tedious.

Ok finally got a coat of paint on the rear guard that I am happy with. Also Polished the Two Alloy guard protectors. and Painted the Fuel tank and its brackets along with the Pedal box unit for under the bonnet, in Black.

The first lot of parts arrived from The Roadster Factory. Yesterday
The Boot lid and Tire cover seals along with some bits for the front of the car. i will need these Later in the process.

Was planning to get a good run at it over easter, but the wife informed me we will be re-painting the Bedroom over Easter. So the house must take priority.

I started to prepare the Rear guard to paint. Every time I hit it with primer an area fries, so I have to rub that back and start again. I am not a paint tecnishion so am doing it tuff. Will get back to it this weekend.
The Door handles I ordered from Moss arrived. I clicked the wrong Line and ordered TR4 set instead of TR3 (Bugger) .
I really want to Get the back guards both fitted with the Chrome beading So I can see the effect. Then I will repaint the Fuel tank and repair the fuel guage. I have decided to work from the back of the car to the front last. as the back is easier. and the results will show up. I need to keep my Enthusiasm up because. I realised I really diddn't know where to start, and that was stopping me.

After sitting for many years after repainting the bodywork and reassembling to a rolling chassis. This year I Intend to get serious. And You My new friends will keep me motivated. Th heading What did you de with your TR is great encoragement. I have done nothing with my beloved Tr for years. Of course I have other Projects. My cute little Ford Anglia Sports Sedan. Needs lots of attention to keep it on the race track. and My lovely Wife owns a Beastie Triumph MK1 saloon The PI kind. It has many mods. enougt to make 200hp at the back wheels. She calls him Ralph because thets the sound he makes when you start him up...RRRaaaallffff...
She drives it in Historic sprints and Hillclimbs and has many trophies to prove a woman can beat a man in a head to head contest in this sport.

So this weekend coming i get back to Panelbeating the rear guard that picked ip a battle scar whilst cringing in the corner of the garage. Ani I intend to remove the burred over screws from the windscreen frame.
